Dirty moans for Dirty Bones

I'd like to start this post with a definition.

Comfort food...

noun

  1. simple, home-style food that brings comforting thoughts of home or childhood.

Dirty Bone's description opening line is "New York comfort food and cocktails" and boy oh boy did they deliver just that.

So yes I was out in Shoreditch again, because sometimes when your moods in a funk, one of the best things to do is grab great food with your girls and so two Sunday's ago, I did just that.

Now despite the evening starting with our indecisiveness causing us to spend, an hour trailing through eight degree temperatures whilst being dressed for a much warmer day, we finally ended up in Dirty Bones. Relieved they weren't jam packed on this cold Sunday we were seated and spent a good twenty minutes changing our minds on what to order. Although all chatter stopped once the food arrived, as we dug in only making room for pleasurable moans in between mouthfuls.

I for one can honestly tell you that I could have easily ordered one of everyyyything on the menu and then happily snoozed in their cosy booth seating. Funnily enough, I shared this blissful order-struggle with the girls resulting in us all ordering three of the Mac Daddy burgers - cooked medium.

Side-note for those as greedy as me and questioning the need for such a name;

6oz house burger topped with pulled beef short rib, mac & cheese and homemade BBQ sauce

Yes, I know right?! Should really be called the Beast Mac Daddy!

With our burgers we ordered a selection of sides to share including, one cheesy truffle fries, one regular fries, a portion of mac 'n' cheese and two spicy slaws due to the garlic beans running out.

Of course this was all washed down with the following cocktails....

One Djinn Djiin and Littlest Hobo for the girls and a Top Dog for me. Although we all agreed, that I picked the tastiest one. Between the laughter and uplifting conversation we enjoyed our evening with the help of amazingly warm service.

Despite being contently full, Char and I decided to attempt squeezing in desserts whilst San had well and truly tapped out.

Char went for the Milk and Cookies whilst I was entertained by the Waffles and Berries and its rude looking white chocolate sauce. Both a sweet ending to our meals.

So if you're looking for good, hearty comfort food - Dirty Bones is where it's at!

Vibe - Excellent choice of music, that literally kept me bouncing in my seat. Cute and romantic decor alongside dimmed lighting, makes Dirty Bones, also perfect for a date night.
Munch - Each and every mouthful was truly delightful!
Triple R - Yes, yes and yes again! I look forward to return with more friends.
Making my Total Rating Score - 5/5

*Apologies for the poorly taken photos, but in all honesty sexy dimmed lighting and hungry bellies can only equal rushed photography.
