What Tha Cluk?!

Did someone say chicken?

Side note; I wrote this review whilst listening to Cluck Cluck by Product G&B ft Wyclef, yes I'm super old school.

So I was lucky enough to be invited down to Cluk in Shoreditch based inside Hoxton 7 and after checking out the menu – it was a no brainer!

I mean who doesn’t like chicken (I’m talking meat eaters of course)? But that isn’t all Cluk has to offer. Built on the infusion of Latino and Caribbean flavours it hard to choose between the four kinds or marinade.

Arriving on Saturday evening, it was clear to see just how popular Cluk is as I sat watching the football which was being shown on the multiple tv screens and nodding along to the house music. Whilst waiting on my late pal, I order myself my fav cocktail a Amaretto Sour (made without the egg whites, just how I like em) and took in the party feel I was getting.

Once my mate had I arrived we decide to opt for one out of the two menu’s (one being chicken the other pizza’s) and went about ordering the Chicken burger coated in the Nina’s Chicken marinade, a portion of Chicken Wings in Grandpa’s BBQ marinade, two servings of fries and the Macaroni n Cheese.

Cluk is the go-to-spot for good cocktails and food on a budget that won’t break the bank!

Vibe - Good tunes and dimmed lighting, Cluk is the prefect spot for a pre turn up!
Munch - The flavours weren't what we expected, so we'd have to return again to make a better judgement.
Triple R - I would recommend it for a good stomach lining before a night to remember!
Making my Total Rating Score - 3.5/5

RTC - Ladies Night 01

Rosa’s Thai CafĂ©

I chose RTC as my first location for TMD’s – Ladies Nights. Which is one of my new categories. Ladies Nights are basically a chance for me to catch up with my girlfriends over good wine and smile bearing food and you can also read more about that on my new categories tab!

Sooo, when half of us arrived we were greeted with a warming welcome and seated. Now to be completely honest as much as I love them, the larger half of my girls were late. But to my surprise that didn’t affect our service at all, if anything it only made me itch to order even more!

(check out these t-shirts the waitresses and waiters were in)

Once our table was complete, after munching on some yummy Prawn Crackers served with a Peanut Sauce (that I was hesitant about trying, but yep it’s a new fav), we ordered drinks. The girls ordering either Thai Ice Tea’s, or cocktails and for me my beloved Pinot Grigio.

I found that the menu choice was a challenge (despite being the person who chose the restaurant and having already as usual checked out the menu) because I had a hard time narrowing down my choice to just one dish; although it is a challenge I much prefer to have, as appose to not wanting to order anything at all.

So after about a good twenty minute debate amongst the table, on who was ordering what, we settled with the Fish Cake’s, Crispy Prawns, Calamari, Chicken Wings and the BBQ Pork Skewers (from the seasonal menu) to share between us.

For our mains we ordered a Prawn Red and Green Curry, as well as a Lamb Yellow Curry (sounds real colourful right?) with servings of Garlic Brown Rice, Coconut Rice and Jasmine Rice. We also got a Chilli and Basil Stir Fried Flat Noodle dish, oh and a Grilled Sirloin Beef which were all delicious!  We ended the night by sharing scoops of the homemade ice creams we spotted on the specials board, they had a selection of Coconut, Green Tea and Thai Ice Tea, each finding our favourites.

Now for the part you really want to read. In all I think I would return for the attentive service but we all agreed that the flavours in the food were subtler than we hoped they’d be. But the night full of good vibes and great conversation still made my first night hosting a success.

Vibe - Chilled and welcoming, perfect spot for a date night or even just a casual bite.
Munch - We found the presentation to be better than the tastes of the food.
Triple R - I think I would return to try all the dishes we didn't.
Making my Total Rating Score - 3.5/5
